Description of Marketing Program

The Marketing concentration provides students with the opportunity to learn the components of the field by broadly focusing on “managing” promotion, sales, and distribution. Students interested in a career in marketing will further explore topics including consumer behavior, marketing research, the international market, and their effect on marketing strategies.

Why Concentrate in Marketing?

The American Marketing Association (AMA) defines marketing as “processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.”

The field of marketing requires a systematic approach in creating customer value.  Additionally, marketing enables organizations to build and sustain a competitive advantage in the market.  Creating customer value through the understanding of consumer behavior, managing relationship, and developing a strong brand are some of the areas that will be covered in the marketing curriculum.
